No Tricks, Only Treats at Pug Partners of Nebraska’s
Annual Pug-O-Ween Festival Oct. 25, 2009

Get out of the cold and get into the fun during Pug-O-Ween Oct. 25, 2009. Sponsored by Pug Partners of Nebraska. Omaha’s largest annual pug gathering is kicking it up a notch from Noon – 4pm in the National Guard Armory on 6929 Mercy Road with more vendors, more prizes, more family fun, and, of course, more pugs.

“Last year’s event was a great beginning with an attendance of just over 200 people and pugs,” said Jessica Kamish, Founder of Pug Partners of Nebraska, “but this year we’re planning on upping the fun and making it better in every way.”

Last year one of the main attractions was the costume contest and this year Pug Partners is going to pull out all the stops with bigger prizes for the variety of categories including Best Group Costume, Best Couple, Most Creative, and Best Overall. To capture the memories, Gunn Photography will be available throughout the event snapping photographs.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! New events this year include a Rescue Parade and short video for all of the Pugs that have been rescued, a silent auction, a collar making booth for creating custom dog collars, and Pug Races. Will they run forward, backward, take a nap, or sniff their neighbor? Come see for yourself!

With a children’s beanbag toss, color the pug, raffle prizes from over 25 different vendors, and pug and non-pug related goodies to purchase this will really be an event the whole family can enjoy.

Ms. Kamish says, “While a lot of the event will be focused on fun and games, one of our organization’s main priorities is to make sure every pug is healthy. We have partnered with a variety of veterinarians to provide free eye screenings, dental checks, and chiropractic evaluations in between all of the fun activities planned.”

Pug-O-Ween will kick off their festivities on October 25, 2009 from Noon – 4pm in the National Guard Armory on 6929 Mercy Road in Omaha, NE. Entrance to the event is $7 per person, $3 for children 12 and under, and pugs are always free. All proceeds will benefit Pug Partners of Nebraska’s continued rescue efforts and making future events like these possible.
